The buzz word in textiles these days is High Performance. So what does that mean and what do you need to know in order to make an informed decision for your custom Bend Upholstery order?
High performance can mean a variety of things but most often it means that the textile in question has one or more of the following attributes. Our high performance textiles exceed industry standards ensuring that you will not only love the look of your custom Bend Upholstery Piece(s) but it will stand up over time.
Rub counts. There are two standard test for how many “Rubs” a textile can withstand before it becomes worn. Upholstery fabric starts at 30,000 rubs. One test, the Martindale test rubs in a figure 8 and the other, the Wyzenbeek test rubs in a warp and weft (across and up and down) and is measured in double rubs. Our high performance textiles go up to 200,000 double rubs!!!!!
Water Resistant. Higher performance than water repellent, water resistant means that water or liquid will not penetrate the textile so when spill your red wine on the sectional late at night all you need to do is wipe it off with a wet soapy rag. So there is no need to worry.
Stain free technology. Stain free technology means that ball point pen, coffee, red wine, ketchup, mud stains etc are easily removable. The stain free technology means that textile is LOW MAINTENANCE because who on this earth wants high maintenance material on their furniture (no one ever!). These textiles are child and dog friendly. Breath easy, live your life and don’t think about your furniture unless its to admire how gorgeous it is.
Scratch resistant leather. Leathers are always a classic for high performance. They are easy to maintain and easy to clean. But not all leather are created equally and not all are scratch resistant. But ours are! Always a good choice when someone has children and pets or just wants luxurious timeless style that is easy to live with.
